Lost in the Mountains. Serfaus, Austria. January 2015.

Servus! It’s been a while… After my 2 months in Spain I spent some time as a Ski and Snowboard instructor in Serfaus, Austria. The ski season is not over yet, so it’s not too late to post some photos of those beautiful snowy mountains, even though I have been back for quite some time now.

A completely different environment than the cityscapes and architecture of Valencia or Paris which gave me different material to work with. Although my blog might have been a bit too quiet for a while, I have been all over the place and took my camera with me of course. So, more photos and more places will follow soon …

¡Hola Valencia! I’m in Spain for the next 2 months to learn spanish. In the first few days I took my camera and began to explore the city on my valenbisi, these are public bikes that you can rent at bike stations all around the city. It still feels like summer with the hot weather and the beach 10 minutes away.

The sky is so blue, it almost looks unreal. Combined with the architecture of La Ciudad De Las Artes Y Las Ciencias, the photos have a sort of futuristic effect. The blue sky in contrast with the white buildings is modern and ‘fresh’. These are just the first few photos of my adventure in Spain but Valencia has a lot more to offer…

I enjoy working with black and white photos. They really make you focus on what’s on the photo exactly. With overlapping images it’s nice to see how lines are crossing and how it creates new shades of grey. Sometimes you just need some black and white to make the image stronger or create a certain feeling.

This series of photos are all taken in Paris this year. Paris architecture works really well in black and white. Black and white photography is timeless and that’s what I find so beautiful about it. One of my favourite black and white photographers is Brassai with his series of photos from Paris in the 1930s. It’s worth checking out. I saw his photos when the were exhibited in Paris last year.

Soon I’ll be travelling to new places, so this means more photos, more posts and more of me!

It Was Only Just A Sketch

This series of photos are from my time in high school for one of my art projects in the IB Diploma. It was supposed to be a sketch for a painting, but when the painting was done I realised these photos might be even stronger than the painting itself. So I decided to put these photos as individual works in my final art exhibition.

And this is where it started… I began to edit more and more photos in the same style and eventually I decided to make a blog to post them and be able to show them to whoever takes a look at this blog ;)

These photos in my first post show a lot what my work is about. Inspired by Parisian architecture and the use of contrasting colours. The buildings in Paris have beautiful details that I love to repeat in my edits. The focus point in my completely changes after I have edited them, usually by reflection or shifting of the images.
